A horrible crash shattered a young Brooklyn family’s Christmas, killing a mom and sending her boyfriend to jail on suicide watch after he slammed into a tractor trailer Wednesday morning. Eloy (Eli) Perez was boozed up, high on pot and speeding when he smashed his Honda Civic into a rig that was pulling out of a parking lot on Vandervoort Ave in Williamsburg. The crash killed 26 years old Diana Lamache on 06:00, who was in the passenger seat. Perez 27 years old was being held on $50,000 bail after being arraigned Wednesday night on manslaughter and other charges. The couple has a 4 year old daughter, her name is Eliana.

Lamache suffered severe head trauma and was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, but she could not be saved, police told. Her father, Lenin, received an outpouring of support on his Facebook. “With the deepest regret and with all the pain in the world, it saddens me to announce the death of my daughter Dianita” he wrote in his facebook.

Perez was also taken to Woodhull, his blood alcohol level measured 0.7%, authorities told, high enough for an impaired-driving charge. An EMT and a cop told he smelled of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint. Perez’s devastated family told the couple was returning from a work party in Queens. “She was supposed to go out Christmas shopping for her daughter today, i am trying to hold on and be strong for my granddaughter. It’s very hard” told Perez’s mother, Gina, sobbing as she spoke. “We’re not in the mood to celebrate Christmas right now” she added.
