This retired engineer knows how to live the high life

It is a bird, it is a plane… no really, it is a plane.

Instead of living in a van down by the river, Bruce Campbell lives in an airplane .

The retired engineer lives in a Boeing 727 outside of Portland. Complete with wings and landing gear resting on pillars, it’s where Campbell spends 6 months. Campbell’s reason behind living in an aircraft? “To save that plane from becoming scrap metal,” he said the Huffington Post.

There is no need for Bruce Campbell to take interior design courses because he is keeping the original features. The cockpit’s going to stay the way it’s, fully loaded with all the controls. Bruce Campbell does have working electricity, however, he cannot just fly off into the sunset. Campbell sleeps on a futon, bathes in a shower and cooks with a microwave. There’s no stove on board.
