Justin Bieber defends Kylie Jenner’s hair

Over the weekend, Kylie Jenner got into a bit of a social media brawl with Hunger Games actress Amandla Stenberg, who wasn’t pleased with a photo Kylie posted of herself sporting cornrows. After a few snippy back and forths between the girls, Bieber jumped in to defend his friend’s hair. “Guys leave her alone, were all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope! I’m the first to know this,” he wrote to Kylie’s pic. “But saying she iss being racist because she wants her hair in braids is ridiculous. Lets focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid lets do something about equality, but it does not start here blasting a 17 year old kid for wearing braids smh.” Bieber’s post appeared to be in direct response to Stenberg, who took Kylie to task for using her position in the public eye to promote her business venture instead of pressing race relations issues in our country. “When u appropriate black features and culture but fail to use ur position of power to help black Americans by directing attention towards your wigs instead of police brutality or racism #whitegirlsdoitbetter,” she wrote to the reality star. But even before Bieber came calling, Kylie was defending herself sort of. “Mad if I do…mad if I do not,” she wrote back to Stenberg before adding, “Go hang w Jaden or something.” (Jaden Smith is a mutual friend of the two young stars.) Stenberg was not finished sharing her opinions just yet, posting a much longer piece she composed about the double standards surrounding beauty with black and white women.
